Allscripts has partnered with CSC and HP to bid on the $11 billion Department of Defense Healthcare Management System Modernization contract to build the department's next health information system.
Under the bid, Allscripts's electronic health record technology would be coupled with CSC's and HP's large-scale health IT expertise, creating a comprehensive system to serve the DoD's approximately 9.7 million beneficiaries.
"We are very pleased to partner with CSC and HP, organizations that share our commitment to innovation, interoperability and connectivity and our dedication to improve the quality of patient care," said Paul Black, president and CEO of Allscripts, in a statement. "The CSC-led team will bring unparalleled expertise and experience to maximize the power, breadth and flexibility of Allscripts Sunrise and Allscripts population health management solutions."
Allscripts, CSC and HP are not the first to throw their hat into the ring. Earlier this month, Epic and IBM announced their intention to submit a joint bid for the project.
