Electronic medical record vendor Allscripts has become the first Certified Educator of HIMSS Analaytic's EMR Adoption Model, meaning the vendor is now certified by HIMSS to help its clients advance through the seven stages of the maturity model.
"Allscripts is honored to be named the first Certified Educator for EMRAM," said Paul M. Black, president and CEO of Allscripts, in a news release. "The certification will enable Allscripts to better assist our clients in achieving HIMSS stage 6 or 7, critical for future success for healthcare organizations."
Since 2005, HIMSS Analytics' EMR Adoption Model has tracked electronic medical record adoption in hospitals and health systems throughout the country. To date, 681 hospitals have reached the penultimate stage 6, and another 161 are at stage 7 and completely paperless.
