AI expands data science team at Texas Children's

Houston-based Texas Children's Hospital said the growth in AI has caused the organization to grow its data science team.

"With the recent exponential growth in the use of artificial intelligence in medicine, our data science team has now grown to over 30 people and continues to expand at a rapid pace," Huda Zoghbi, MD, a distinguished service professor at Baylor College and a Howard Hughes Medical Institute investigator, said in a March 13 news release from Texas Children's.

Zhandong Liu, PhD, chief of computational sciences at Texas Children's Hospital and the Ting Tsung and Wei Fong Chao Endowed Chair and associate professor at Baylor College of Medicine, will lead Texas Children's new research hub, the Data Science Center. The center conducts informational seminars and workshops focusing on AI and machine learning methodologies for faculty and staff members of Texas Children's and Baylor College of Medicine.
