The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality updated its TeamSTEPPS teamwork and communications program. The agency will no longer provide in-person training, but instead will focus on online training and its free mobile application.
TeamSTEPPS, established 10 years ago, will continue to offer ready-to-use curricula that includes specialty modules for office-based care providers, long-term care settings and rapid response teams. TeamSTEPPS case studies will also continue to be available. The program aims to enhance collaboration and communication among healthcare professionals.
Nearly 6,200 master trainers have attended in-person training sessions since the inception of TeamSTEPPS. However, there has also been a significant increase in use of TeamSTEPPS materials online. More than 1,200 people have completed the online certificate course.
