A Florida-based law firm has announced they are investigating potential claims against Alhambra, Calif.-based AHMC Healthcare following an October 2013 data breach that compromised the protected health information of 729,000 patients.
The data breach occurred when two laptops were stolen from AHMC offices. The password-protected laptops contained patients' names, insurance information and diagnosis and treatment information.
The law firm, Wites & Kapetan, is now seeking patients affected by the breach for a potential suit against the health system.
