Advisory Board purchases Clinovations for undisclosed amount

The Advisory Board Company purchased Washington, D.C.-based health IT startup Clinovations for an undisclosed amount.

The startup will be incorporated into the Advisory Board Consulting and Management, a division of ABC that focuses on healthcare organizations, according to D.C. Inno. Clinovations deals with EHRs and other time- and money-saving measures for healthcare clients.

Clinovation earned $24.9 million in 2013, jumping up from $14.1 million in 2012. The company works with global pharmaceutical companies to develop strategies on leveraging health IT for population health initiatives.

"Together, we will be able to help more providers and organizations improve clinical and operational outcomes in a holistic and solutions-based approach," Kristen Van Dusen, senior marketing manager for Clinovations, wrote in a news release.
