Altamonte Springs, Fla.-based Adventist Health System has deployed Imprivata's biometric patient identification platform.
The platform, called Imprivata PatientSecure, aims to ensure patients are correctly linked to their unique EMR to eliminate duplicate patient medical records, according to a news release. Specifically, Imprivata PatientSecure creates a 1:1 match between individual patients and their unique medical records using biometric identification. Patients utilize palm-vein biometrics at registration to immediately launch their EMR, the release states.
So far, Adventist has installed the Imprivata platform across 29 of its facilities in eight different states, including Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, North Carolina, Texas and Wisconsin, and is expected to be deployed across almost all of the system by the end of this year.
