The first ICD-10 end-to-end testing week demonstrated positive results — 81 percent of submitted test claims were accepted, according to CMS.
More than 600 healthcare organizations including providers, clearinghouses and billing agencies participated in the first testing week. They submitted a total of 14,929 test claims, 12,149 of which were accepted.
Three percent of claims were rejected for invalid submission of ICD-9 diagnosis or procedure codes, 3 percent were rejected for invalid submission of ICD-10 diagnosis or procedure code and 13 percent were rejected due to non-ICD-10 related errors, such as incorrect health insurance claim number or submitter ID, or dates of service outside the testing range.
