726 hospitals use CommonWell member EHRs

The CommonWell Health Alliance was launched in March 2013 as an organization committed to supporting interoperability. In the almost three years since, the organization has grown from its initial five members to more than 20 members.

A recent EHRIntelligence report outlined the number of hospitals using CommonWell vendors. According to the report, 726 hospitals (24 percent in the country) use CommonWell vendors, with most using Siemens' EHR.

Here is the breakdown of hospitals using CommonWell vendors and the organization's health information exchange technology.

1. Siemens: 228 hospitals

2. MEDITECH: 153 hospitals

3. Cerner: 113 hospitals

4. RelayHealth: 88 hospitals

5. McKesson: 74 hospitals

6. dbMotion: 33 hospitals

7. Allscripts: 33 hospitals

8. Greenway: 4 hospitals
