6,000 Physicians, 56 Hospitals Commit to EHR Use in Ohio

Ohio has signed up more than 6,000 primary care physicians to use electronic health records as part of the state’s efforts towards a statewide health information exchange, according to an Ohio Health Information Partnership news release.

The partnership also has 56 hospitals signed up for EHR use, including facilities in rural and underserved regions. The Partnership has committed to the Office of the National Coordinator of Health Information Technology that it will support outreach so that 10,000 physicians can meet Medicare and Medicaid federal meaningful use requirements in 2012.
