6 Hospitals Achieve HIMSS Analytics Stage 7

In the past week, six more hospitals have been awarded HIMSS Analytics Stage 7 designation for their adoption and use of electronic medical record systems.

The hospitals include:

  • Tampa (Fla.) General Hospital
  • Ronald Regan UCLA Medical Center (Los Angeles)
  • Resnick Neuropsychiatric Hospital at UCLA (Los Angeles)
  • UCLA Medical Center, Santa Monica (Calif.)
  • Bristol (Conn.) Hospital
  • Lancaster (Pa.) General Hospital

Since 2005, HIMSS Analytics' EMR Adoption Model has tracked EMR adoption in hospitals and health systems throughout the country. The eight-stage model cumulates with stage 7, in which paper records are no longer used. Stage 7 organizations are also able to share patient information electronically and have advanced data analytics capabilities.
