In the past week, six more hospitals have been awarded HIMSS Analytics Stage 7 designation for their adoption and use of electronic medical record systems.
The hospitals include:
- Tampa (Fla.) General Hospital
- Ronald Regan UCLA Medical Center (Los Angeles)
- Resnick Neuropsychiatric Hospital at UCLA (Los Angeles)
- UCLA Medical Center, Santa Monica (Calif.)
- Bristol (Conn.) Hospital
- Lancaster (Pa.) General Hospital
Since 2005, HIMSS Analytics' EMR Adoption Model has tracked EMR adoption in hospitals and health systems throughout the country. The eight-stage model cumulates with stage 7, in which paper records are no longer used. Stage 7 organizations are also able to share patient information electronically and have advanced data analytics capabilities.
