4 Things to Know About RightCare

Health IT software vendor RightCare has been recognized by the Greater Philadelphia Alliance for Capital and Technologies as the recipient of 21st Annual PACT Enterprise Award in the "Game Changing Healthcare Company."

Here are four things to know about RightCare.

  1. RightCare's Risk Assessment software uses predictive analytics to stratify patient risk at admission. RightCare Coordination Central and RightCare Post Care Connect also use big data to help ensure the most appropriate care plan is selected and then help with the transition of care process.
  2. The disease-agnostic algorithm was developed at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia to identify patients who are the most likely to face readmissions within either 30 or 60 days. The software then suggests tailored treatment options for these patients to help reduce their risk of readmission.
  3. Using the software, the University of Pennsylvania achieved a 29 percent drop in 30-day all-cause readmissions in three of its acute-care hospitals. Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, also in Philadelphia, uses RightCare as well, and Houston Methodist recently announced it would implement RightCare at three of the system's hospitals.
  4. RightCare has been recognized with several other honors, including being a finalist in the 2013 Fierce Innovation Awards: Healthcare Edition. In 2014, RightCare co-founder, president and CEO Eric Heil was named one of Philadelphia Business Journal's "40 Under 40."
