4 Recently Launched mHealth Apps

The following is a roundup of recently launched mHealth apps, reported in the past week.

1. Access Health CT, Connecticut's state health insurance exchange, launched the nation's first mobile app for a state healthcare exchange. The app allows consumers to compare coverage options and enroll in plans, according to a Hartford Guardian report.

2. Morristown, N.J.-based Atlantic Health System launched an app allowing consumers to track and maintain their health and access hospital information and resources. Each of the five Atlantic Health System hospitals has its own "Be Well" app catered to its specificities.

3. San Francisco-based First Opinion launched an app allowing patients to privately message physicians. The app is intended for expectant mothers, matching a user with a physician who is also a mother, but the app can be used for a range of ailments and symptoms.

4. Singapore-based Health2i's HospitalPix app is now available for download in the United States. The app uses geolocation technology to provide users with a list of nearby healthcare facilities. The app also hosts photo-sharing, so users can upload images of the hospitals and offer comments and reviews.
