Wednesday was a day of announcements for Amazon's Web Services, when AWS CEO Andy Jassy introduced several new tools at the re:Invent conference in Las Vegas, CNBC reports.
Here are four of the new tools Mr. Jassy announced Wednesday.
1. Amazon Rekognition Video is able to recognize and track people in real-time through video feeds.
2. Amazon Transcribe can transcribe audio recordings into clean text.
3. Amazon Comprehend can pick up on positive or negative cues, as well as certain people, places and phrases, in text.
4. Amazon Translate is a service that translates texts into different languages, which Google has offered for years.
"We have to solve the problem of making [AI] accessible for everyday developers and scientists," Mr. Jassy said to more than 40,000 attendees, according to CNBC.
But what is AWS not planning to do? While bitcoin may have gained widespread popularity in recent years, AWS doesn't see a lot of use cases "beyond the distributed ledge," hinting that the business won't be turning to blockchain solutions anytime soon, TechCrunch reports.
