The College of Healthcare Information Management Executives has elected three new members to its board of trustees: Cynthia Peterson, Marc Chasin, MD, and Shafiq Rab, MD.
Ms. Peterson currently is CIO of Valencia, Calif.-based Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital. She has nearly 30 years of experience leading health IT initiatives.
Dr. Chasin is vice president and CIO of Boise, Idaho-based St. Luke's Health System, a position he has held since 2010.
Dr. Rab is vice president and CIO of Hackensack (N.J.) University Medical Center.
"As our three newly elected trustees have demonstrated in their own organizations, CIOs must be strategic partners in improving care across the continuum," said Marc Probst, board chair of CHIME. "The three of them bring a diverse set of experiences that will be valuable as the board continues to fulfill CHIME's vision statement — Exceptional Leaders Transforming Healthcare."
The new board members' term starts Jan. 1 and will last three years.
