Blue Shield of California is notifying 21,000 individuals whose personal information was compromised during a data breach that came to the organization’s attention in December. Those who may have been affected enrolled between October 2013 and December 2015.
The compromised data may have included names, addresses, birth dates and Social Security information, according to the notification letter. Blue Shield of California is offering a one-year membership with a credit-monitoring service for individuals affected by the breach.
