In October, 6,792 eligible hospitals and providers received meaningful use incentive payments.
- 73 hospitals received a payment in October. Of these, one received only a Medicare payment, one received only a Medicaid payment and the other 71 received both.
- 4,365 Medicare-eligible professionals received a payment. Most were physicians holding an MD or a DO (3,539), followed by chiropractors (419), optometrists (268), podiatrists (133) and dentists (6).
- 2,354 Medicaid-eligible professionals received a payment. Most were physicians (1,382), followed by nurse practitioners (522), dentists (390), certified nurse-midwives (32) and physicians assistants (28).
