Minneapolis-based Zipnosis revealed claims processing functionality for its virtual care platform with client partner MultiCare Health System in Tacoma, Wash., and integration partner PokitDok.
Here are four things to know.
1. MultiCare offered its powered-by-Zipnosis virtual care platform to employees and dependents as a covered benefit to streamline claims processing, according to a news release.
2. Through the Zipnosis platform, MultiCare employees can receive diagnosis and treatment for more than 10 common conditions, including cold and flu, seasonal allergies, bladder infections and minor skin conditions, the release states. Zipnosis said claims information is put together by the Zipnosis platform and routed through PokitDok to the payer.
3. Zipnosis has previously worked with PokitDok, a company providing a development platform of application programming interfaces to process healthcare business transactions, such as eligibility checks, claims, scheduling and payments.
4. "PokitDok designed claims administration tools to support emerging digital health companies like Zipnosis," Lisa Maki, co-founder and CEO of PokitDok, said in the release. "This engagement really hit our sweet spot: working to strip costs and unproductive time out of clinical visits. We leveraged our HIPAA-compliant data connections to health insurers and payers to facilitate this new workflow. The result is quality care delivery with improved efficiency."
