In light of resumed discussions, Yale New Haven (Conn.) Health is making advancements in acquiring three Connecticut hospitals from Prospect Medical Holdings, CT Insider reported Dec. 1.
Following the Connecticut Office of Health Strategy's move to approve a certificate of need for Waterbury Hospital, Manchester Memorial Hospital and Rockville General Hospital in Vernon, the parties have exchanged proposals to finalize a deal agreement during secret negotiations.
No additional details were released of Yale's initial $435 million offer, which has since been renegotiated following a ransomware attack on the three hospitals in August.
"Yale New Haven Health has responded to OHS's proposals and looks forward to continuing to negotiate an agreement that will allow us to operate the Waterbury and ECHN hospitals safely while ensuring access to affordable, high-quality health care that meets the needs of their communities," Dana Marnane, a spokesperson for Yale New Haven Health, told the publication.
