Quincy (Wash.) Valley Medical Center has experienced an influx of local concertgoers with medical issues, and officials have asked the concert operator to help cover some of the uncompensated costs, according to a Wenatchee World report.
Live Nation operates a concert venue, Gorge Amphitheatre, only a few miles away from Quincy Valley Medical Center. According to the report, concertgoers have cost the hospital more than $500,000 in medical expenses in 2013, mostly from unpaid bills associated with treatment for drug and alcohol abuse.
Officials with Live Nation have said they are "reviewing" the situation. The hospital will continue to take care of patients through the emergency room, but officials are worried a busy concert slate will continue to drum up high rates of uncompensated care, according to the report.
