Pittsburgh-based UPMC is spending $12 million to expand cancer center sites in Greenville and Farrell, Pa., The Herald reported.
Four things to know:
1. The project includes expanding Hillman Cancer Center sites.
2. The expansion at UPMC Horizon – Shenango Valley in Farrell is on-site at the hospital and will double the cancer center's size, hospital officials said.
3. The cancer center in Greenville provides chemotherapy and will continue to do so from a newly renovated space at UPMC Horizon – Greenville hospital. Hospital officials said the cancer care footprint in Greenville will expand from about 3,000 to 10,000 square feet.
4. Both expansions are expected to be completed next spring.
