The board of Union Hospital in Dover, Ohio, has approved an expansion project involving the construction of a new emergency center.
The projected cost of the expansion is $17.7 million, according to a news release. Construction is expected to begin in late August and will take 15 to 18 months to complete. The new emergency center will include a two-story addition and will also encompass 6,800 square feet of existing hospital space.
"Emergency care has been increasingly important to people in Tuscarawas County over the past 20 years, and we expect that growth trend will continue well into the future," Bruce James, Union Hospital president and CEO, sad in the release. "A new emergency center is the highest priority we have to ensure Union Hospital is prepared for that future."
