King of Prussia, Pa.-based Universal Health Services' board of directors have voted to pay a cash dividend of $0.20 per share on June 15 to shareholders of record as of June 1.
UHS is one of the largest for-profit systems in the country. It includes 28 acute care hospitals, 331 inpatient behavioral health facilities, 39 outpatient facilities, an insurance offering and a physician network.
In the first quarter, UHS posted net income of $163.1 million compared with $153.9 million in the same period last year. First-quarter operating income totaled $278.7 million versus $232.9 million in 2022.
