Florida has the highest average cash price for an ultrasound of the abdomen in a hospital at $2,295 and New Jersey has the lowest average cash price at $319, according to a new study from Hospital Pricing Specialists.
For the study, Hospital Pricing Specialists analyzed pricing data from 2,078 hospitals that had machine-readable files on their websites. The analysis focused on the cash prices of ultrasounds on the abdomen, which has the Current Procedural Terminology code 76700.
