St. Francis Health System in Tulsa filed the most debt-collection lawsuits against former patients among 27 organizations investigated by Oklahoma Watch.
The investigation into Oklahoma nonprofit, for-profit and government-owned organizations found that 520 state residents, on average, had debt-collection lawsuits filed against them by a hospital each month from Jan. 1, 2016 to July 31, 2019.
Here are the 27 hospitals and hospital systems that have filed at least 50 debt-collection lawsuits since Jan. 1, 2016, according to the investigation. They are ranked from most to least lawsuits filed.
