Jellico (Tenn.) Regional Hospital will close March 9, according to local news outlet WVLT.
Jellico Regional has been on diversion, but after the CEO resigned and the company that ran the hospital — Oxford, Miss.-based Progressive Health Group — pulled out, CMS intervened to officially shut the hospital down, Jellico Mayor Terry Sandy told ABC affiliate WATE.
The hospital temporarily suspended services due to a staffing shortage in December, according to WYMT. The facility will remain closed until Campbell County can find another entity to take over management duties.
Becker's has reached out to the hospital and the mayor's office and will update this story as more information becomes available.
