Employees at Jellico (Tenn.) Community Hospital say their paychecks are more than a week late, according to TV station WVLT.
Hospital employees told WVLT this is the third time their paychecks have been delayed. The state labor department will not investigate until paychecks are 21 days late.
The employees also recently lost their health insurance. On Sept. 5, Florida Blue confirmed to WVLT that insurance for Jellico Community Hospital employees had been terminated. Though insurance was cut July 1, insurance premiums continued to be deducted from employees' paychecks, according to the report.
Rennova Health, the West Palm Beach, Fla.-based company that owns Jellico Community Hospital, said employees would receive reimbursement of medical deductions taken in July and August on Sept. 16, according to a letter obtained by WVLT. Nurses said those reimbursements had not been provided as of Sept. 20.
Rennova, which purchased Jellico Community Hospital in February, also owns Jamestown (Tenn.) Regional Medical Center. Rennova closed Jamestown Regional in June.
