Taylor Swift donates $15K to fan struggling with her mother's medical bill

Taylor Swift donated $15,500 to a GoFundMe page of a fan whose family is struggling with medical bills, according to CNN.

Sadie Bartell's mother, Lauriann Bartell, has been in a coma for the last three years, and the family is worried about losing their home because of the mounting medical bills.

The 19-year-old daughter tweeted a link to the GoFundMe page saying her mother became ill two days before she went to see Ms. Swift in concert.

"Hey guys. I'm really nervous to post this. Please help if you can and pray for my family. I'm sorry I never said anything sooner, and that I'm suddenly asking for help. I love you guys so much," Ms. Bartell wrote in the tweet, adding "I'm grateful to Taylor for keeping me afloat through it all."

Ms. Swift donated to the GoFundMe page over the weekend with the message "Love, Taylor, Meredith and Olivia Swift."

Meredith and Olivia are the singer's cats.

"Taylor really actually donated to me and followed me and liked my thank you to her. Like that actually happened. It's my life. It's real," Ms. Bartell tweeted after the donation from the singer.
