Tampa (Fla.) General Hospital will hold a topping off ceremony March 29 on its first outpatient medical center, according to a news release.
Topping off has traditionally been held when the last beam (or its equivalent) is placed on top of a structure during its construction.
The new outpatient medical center, slated to open in early 2017, will be a comprehensive ambulatory center.
It will house the hospital's first free-standing adult and pediatric emergency departments, a helipad, surgery center, diagnostic imaging, laboratory services and physician offices.
