Survey: Roughly 75% of Employers Will Offer High-Deductible Health Plans Next Year

A recent survey from the National Business Group on Health suggests that roughly 75 percent of employers will offer some type of high-deductible health plan in 2012, according to a Tennessean report.

NBGH President Helen Darling also predicted in the report that most health plans will have high deductibles by 2016. A HDHP must have a deductible of at least $1,200, and as of a couple years ago, the median deductible for all health plans within the United States reached more than $1,000.
