Stocks closed lower Tuesday after Senate Republicans delayed a vote on their healthcare bill, the Better Care Reconciliation Act.
The Nasdaq composite fell 1.6 percent on Tuesday, while the Dow Jones industrial average slid 0.5 percent and the S&P 500 index dipped 0.8 percent, according to Investor's Business Daily.
In addition to the Senate delaying its vote on the healthcare bill, a sell-off in the technology sector also sent stocks lower Tuesday. The pullback was triggered by the European Union fining Google $2.7 billion for allegedly violating antitrust rules, according to the report.
