Livonia, Mich.-based Trinity Health is consolidating billing operations at affiliate Albany, N.Y.-based St. Peter's Health Partners, according to a Times Union report.
The decision will affect 100 back-office jobs at St. Peter's that will move to Michigan, although it is unclear how many St. Peter's employees will lose work.
St. Peter's spokesperson Elmer Streeter told the Times Union affected employees have until mid-2019 to find other jobs within the organization or take a severance package. Affected employees could also seek a billing job in Michigan.
"We're giving people lots of notice so we can start having discussions with them," Mr. Streeter said. "Ideally, there's an opportunity to stay here [in the upstate New York area]. That's what we usually hope."
St. Peter's Health Partners has nearly 12,500 employees in more than 165 locations, including Albany (N.Y.) Memorial Hospital; St. Mary's Hospital in Troy, N.Y.; St. Peter's Hospital in Albany; Samaritan Hospital in Troy; and Sunnyview Rehabilitation Hospital in Schenectady, N.Y.
St. Peter's primarily has its billing operations in Troy and Albany, the report said.
