St. Louis-based SSM Health is transferring part of its billing operations to service centers, affecting about 70 employees at Fond du Lac, Wis.-based Agnesian HealthCare, according to The Reporter.
Shelly Haberman, spokesperson for Agnesian, part of SSM Health, told the newspaper patient billing service representatives will remain in Fond du Lac, but some Agnesian billing operations jobs will move to service centers in St. Louis and Madison, Wis., over the next 10 months.
With the transfer, SSM Health seeks to "streamline services" as well as "reduce unnecessary variation and duplication of work," she said.
The move will affect about 70 workers, who have a choice to make. They have the option of relocating, or they may be able to get new positions within SSM Health or Agnesian.
Ms. Haberman told The Reporter: "Based on the number of opportunities available to employees within our local and regional ministries and our plans to help match employees with these opportunities, we hope to retain the vast majority of individuals."
Agnesian HealthCare, a nonprofit health system, which was sponsored by the Congregation of Sisters of St. Agnes, joined SSM Health in 2018.
