Springfield, Mass.-based Baystate Health and medical services provider Shields Health are closing their urgent care clinic locations in Feeding Hills, Longmeadow and Westfield, Mass., masslive.com reported March 23.
The closure will affect 15 clinicians at the Westfield location. Employees who lost their jobs will have the opportunity to find a different role at Baystate or apply for a position at Shields.
The clinics will officially close March 31.
"The difficult but necessary decision to close these jointly owned urgent care centers is reflective of the fact that like most of our health care colleagues across the nation, we are struggling with staff shortages and these urgent care sites are no exception," Baystate CEO and President Mark Keroack, MD, said in a Baystate news release.
