Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas (Calif.) announced the opening of the Leichtag Foundation Critical Care Pavilion, the centerpiece of its $94 million second phase of expansion.
The 72,321-square-foot pavilion includes a 26-bed emergency department and features 36 private medical-surgical inpatient rooms. Twelve rooms can be converted to intensive care unit rooms.
The second phase of expansion will also include a new central energy plant and various other infrastructural improvements.
