San Diego-based Scripps Health, a four-hospital system, posted a net surplus of $291.57 million for fiscal year 2014, down from a $370.76 million surplus the previous fiscal year.
The system's revenue slightly decreased from $2.61 billion in fiscal 2013 to $2.56 billion in the most-recent fiscal year. Scripps' net patient revenue was also down, falling to $2.12 billion in fiscal 2014 from $2.25 billion in fiscal 2013.
The system's operating expenses were slightly down in the most-recent fiscal year, falling from $2.42 billion in fiscal 2013 to $2.41 billion in fiscal 2014.
