S&P Global Ratings assigned an "AA-" long-term rating to Springfield, Ill.-based Hospital Sisters Health System's series 2016 bonds.
"The 'AA-' rating continues to reflect our view of HSHS leadership's successful implementation of a strategic plan, which has helped improve the system's operations while maintaining its strong balance sheet," said S&P analyst Brian Williamson.
The outlook is stable, reflecting S&P's opinion that HSHS' senior management will achieve its goal of a 2 percent operating margin.
