Standard & Poor's Ratings Services has assigned an "A" rating to Morgantown-based West Virginia United Health System's series 2016A fixed rate bonds, affecting $258 million.
WVUHS has branded its clinical activities under the name WVUMedicine.
"The rating reflects our opinion of the organization's strong enterprise profile with a good business position, improved operating results in fiscal 2015 and adequate balance sheet in line with the rating," said S&P credit analyst Jessica Goldman.
The outlook is stable, reflecting S&P's opinion that WVUHS will continue to earn adequate operating income, focus on expense management and maintain volume.
