S&P assigns 'A-' rating to University of Vermont Medical Center's bonds

Standard & Poor's Ratings Services has assigned an "A-" long-term rating to Burlington-based University of Vermont Medical Center's series 2016 refunding bonds, affecting $72.6 million.

UVMMC is the flagship hospital of Burlington-based University of Vermont Health Network.

"The 'A-' rating on UVMMC reflects our view of UVMHN's solid enterprise profile across an expanded network of affiliates, along with a financial profile that is very healthy compared to our expectations for the rating," said S&P credit analyst Jennifer Soule.

The outlook is stable, reflecting S&P's view that UVMHN will maintain its enterprise strengths and strong financial profile.
