S&P Global Ratings assigned an "A-" rating to Baltimore-based University of Maryland Medical System's series 2017B and 2017C bonds.
"The rating reflects UMMS' strong enterprise profile with a sound business position as one of Maryland's leading health systems, coupled with a good financial profile characterized by continued positive operating margins in fiscal 2016 and adequate liquidity and financial flexibility," said S&P analyst Stephen Infranco.
The outlook is positive, reflecting S&P's expectation that UMMS will continue to improve its financial trends.
