Great Barrington, Mass.-based Fairview Hospital received a $99,871 federal grant to expand access to healthcare in rural towns, according to iBerkshires.com
The grant was from HHS' Rural Health Network Development Planning Grant Program, which helps rural hospitals address their unique health challenges.
With the gift, the hospital will team up with Needham, Mass.-based Community Health Partners and Great Barrington, Mass.-based Eastern Mountain Medical to craft a plan to expand access through updating the community needs assessment, crafting a strategic plan and building a network of care.
"The newly formed network would build capacity and also needs to build an infrastructure to enable all of us to increase access to care for the southern Berkshire communities," Doreen Hutchison, vice president of operations at Fairview Hospital, told iBerkshires.com
