Revenue cycle highlights from the 2019 JPMorgan Chase healthcare conference

Various revenue cycle management news was shared at the J.P. Morgan Healthcare Conference in San Francisco, according to The National Law Review.  

Three revenue cycle highlights from the first two days of the conference, which began Jan. 7.

1. Salt Lake City-based Intermountain Healthcare reported performance improvements from its enterprisewide outsourcing/partnering transaction with R1 RCM, a provider of revenue cycle management and physician advisory services, according to the report. Intermountain acquired a $20 million stake in R1 RCM in January 2018 and announced it would transfer about 2,300 nonclinical employees to R1 RCM.

2. Bon Secours Mercy Health President and CEO John Starcher Jr. reportedly said that Ensemble Health Partners, acquired two years ago with $10 million in EBITDA, is nearing $90 million in EBITDA and was among the most profitable units in the health system.

3. Ronald Rittenmeyer, chairman and CEO of Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare, said the company is exploring alternatives to selling Conifer Health Solutions, its RCM subsidiary.
