RelayHealth Financial, a subsidiary of McKesson, has teamed up with Emergency Recovery Incorporated to provide revenue recovery services to hospitals and healthcare providers.
The service will assist hospitals with identifying funds that are underpaid or deemed unrecoverable and helps them to collect without up-front fees or patient contact. The service includes:
- Analysis of claims to identify potential revenue leakage.
- Direct engagement of insurers to recover funds and issue payments to providers.
- Reporting and analytics delivered to customers via a dashboard, which can be used to manage and monitor the recovery process in real time.
"There are a lot of ways to go after unpaid claims, many of which are distasteful to hospitals because they involve too much risk," said Marcy Tatsch, vice president and general manager of reimbursement solutions at RelayHealth Financial. "After talking with our customers, we knew they needed an offering that posed no risk to the patient relationship or the bottom line."
