Medical practices should implement an integrated practice management system to improve revenue cycle processes, advised Patrick DeAngelo, senior vice president and general manager of business services at Modernizing Medicine, a cloud-based EHR platform.
He said such a system helps clarify patient balances due and makes it easier for the front-office staff to collect payments from patients during check-in or check-out.
"By having a PM system fully integrated within the EHR system, physicians and medical practice owners can focus on what really matters — patient care and satisfaction. It can eliminate the worry and manual labor, and help unify clinical, financial and operational data and processes," said Mr. DeAngelo.
