To improve revenue cycle performance and reduce administrative waste, cut out manual, error-prone processes in payer-provider transactions, advises Jim Dougherty, CEO of Madaket Health.
He said healthcare organizations should specifically target enrollments necessary for payment.
"Illegible or incorrect information, untimely updates and other manual errors can delay providers' payments by months," he told Becker's Hospital Review. "And with providers facing so many demands in our shifting healthcare environment, it's on payers and intermediaries to find ways to make it easier for providers to get reimbursed for their services, and to increase efficiencies within their own organizations."
By automating simple tasks such as enrollment submission, provider information updates or status updates, he said organizations will have more resources for patient care and will improve payer-provider relationships.
