Revenue cycle management company R1 RCM said Jan. 13 it will acquire patient scheduling solution provider SCI Solutions.
The $190 million transaction is expected to close in the second quarter of 2020.
R1 RCM will acquire SCI's patient access and care coordination solutions, which are EHR-agnostic and support more than 94,000 providers and 1,200 sites of care. Through SCI's tools, patients can search for physicians, schedule appointments and complete onboarding across all care settings.
"Patient scheduling is a critical component of the revenue cycle process, and yet is too often a major pain point for referring providers and health systems," Joe Flanagan, president and CEO of R1, said in a prepared statement.
