Greenville, S.C.-based Prisma Health opened a $32 million multispecialty ambulatory surgery center.
Four things to know:
1. The ASC is Prisma's largest outpatient surgery expansion in the last decade. Patients will have easier access to care with the new facility, according to a Prisma press release.
2. The surgery center includes otolaryngology, gastroenterology and general surgery. Prisma left room for future expansion as well.
3. The two-story facility is 45,351 square feet and has six advanced surgical suites.
4. Prisma's new surgery center comes at a time when more health systems are strengthening their outpatient footprint. Through the first eight months of the year, the median outpatient revenue per calendar day jumped 9%, according to Kaufman Hall's National Hospital Flash Report.
