The board of Dayton, Ohio-based Premier Health has approved a $28 million construction project involving the addition of a 22-bed emergency department to Good Samaritan North Health Center in Dayton, according to a Dayton Daily News report.
The ED will be part of a four-story, 96,000 square foot addition to Good Samaritan, according to the report. The rest of the space will possibly include medical office space and will be used to meet community needs.
The ED is expected to be completed in the spring of 2015 and will create 80 new jobs, according to the report. Premier Health CEO Jim Pancoast said in a statement the project will help the health system achieve its goal of creating a healthier community.
