Missouri system cuts workforce by 130

West Plains, Mo.-based Ozarks Healthcare is to reduce its workforce by 130 full-time equivalent positions, according to multiple reports.

The job losses, which were blamed on inflation, according to a press release cited by Ozark Radio News on Sept. 13, included 30 vacant positions and another 30 changing to part-time from full-time.

Further restructuring is also going ahead at the 64-year-old healthcare system, the release said.

"Our mission has always been and will remain to provide exceptional and compassionate care to all we serve and we are deeply committed to that mission," Tom Keller, Ozarks Healthcare president and CEO, said in the release. "This means we must take the difficult steps and measures to meet these challenging times so we can ensure our financial stability."
