Oregon will soon become the latest state to implement balance billing legislation, according to a KUOW report.
The legislation, House Bill 2339, passed the Oregon legislature last year and takes effect March 1, 2018.
Under the legislation, healthcare providers are prohibited from charging patients out-of-network rates for care provided at in-network facilities.
